The Author

Thomas Huhn

Thomas Huhn, born in 1963, has been a software entrepreneur for 25 years and has also been building his own AI products for a few years. What began with a degree in physics and business informatics — and put him on the early internet back in 1994 — has become a discipline: spotting technological shifts before the market prices them in.

For over a decade, he has invested at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, and cryptocurrency — with his own money, not client money. In The AI Species, those three forces converge into his central thesis: the machine economy, the largest wealth transfer since the Industrial Revolution.

Huhn doesn’t write from the sidelines. Every position in the book is one he holds himself. “Skin in the game” is not a slogan to him, but the condition under which he recommends anything at all.

He lives near Munich, Germany, and writes for anyone who wants to take their wealth into their own hands in a fundamentally changed economy.

On a personal note, Thomas is the father of two grown daughters and grandfather of Mila and Malou. The Children’s Portfolio in Appendix A was written specifically for them — not a theoretical exercise, but real positions, real capital, real time in the market. A dedicated gym athlete and former amateur rock musician.

“Mila, if you ever read this: I didn’t write this book for people of my generation. I wrote it for yours — so you won’t have to ask in ten years why nobody told you.” — Epilogue: For Mila
